Where and when do Scouts meet?
Meetings are scheduled in Toronto North / thornhill area.
Click here to see our locations. Groups meet on a weeknight. Time for the meeting depend on the location of the group.
The Scouting calendar in some groups correspond to school year calendar. At the time of registration you will be given your groups calendar schedule.

How long is the Scout program?
Invest early! Having your child join Scouts at an early age can be highly beneficial to the maturing of a child. The earliest level is Beavers which starts at age 5 and the last level is Rovers which ends at age 26.
The meeting length can vary between 1-2 hours, depending on the section they are enrolled in.

What are the requirements for joining?
Anybody - male or female - between the ages of 5 and 26 can become a member. There are five different age levels:
Beavers is for children aged 5 - 7; Cubs for those aged 8 - 10; Scouts for those aged 11 - 14; Venturers for youth aged 14 - 17, and; Rovers for adults aged 18 - 26. We also have many youth leadership opportunities available to those aged 14 - 17.

What do they do in Scouting?
In Beavers and Cubs, the program is built around a lively variety of games, crafts, music, story-telling, play acting and spiritual fellowship, all of which centre around the outdoors. In Scouts, a more rugged array of outdoor and environmental activities are introduced and Scouts are given the opportunity to enhance their leadership and citizenship skills. In the older sections of Venturers and Rovers, the youth themselves are responsible for planning and carrying out their own program based on their interests so the sky is the limit!

How can parents get involved?
Scouting is a family affair! The majority of our adult volunteers are parents of members. You can get involved in many different ways: Becoming a leader, assisting in transportation, or even tracking finances are just a few of the ways. For more information, click here to find out how to get involved.
